The Marist community came together for a mass in honor of a student who tragically passed away.

According to Marist College, 19-year-old Courtney Fisher, suddenly died Friday morning after being in a car accident while in her home state of Ohio. The sophomore was a successful member of the Marist College water polo team and an outstanding student says Marist.

A fellow member of the team, Grace Doerfler, tells GoRedFoxes.com that Courtney was hands down the hardest working member of their team and was a rising sophomore. Fisher's coach Natalie Benson says Courtney was one of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet, saying she was selfless, caring, a motivator and a leader.

If you would like to honor Courtney you can join Marist Athletics at a special mass Sunday, Aug. 14 at 1pm at the Marist Chapel. All are invited to attend.
