The 2016 National Football League draft begins this Thursday in Chicago. The nation's top collegiate stars will patiently wait to hear their names called during the draft's seven rounds that runs through Saturday.

One of these hopefuls is wide receiver Matt Tralli from Marist.

Tralli just finished his senior season with the Red Foxes where he lead the team with 53 receptions and was second in receiving yards. The 5'10'', 190 pound fifth year senior out of Croton, New York was honorable mention All-Pioneer League, and wrapped up his career as the Red Foxes' all-time career leader in receptions, with 203, and receiving yards with 2300.

If drafted, Tralli will be one of only three former Marist players in the NFL. In 2014, defensive end Terrence Fede became the first Red Fox player ever drafted by an NFL team when he was selected by the Miami Dolphins in the 7th Round.

Kicker Jason Myers is the second, though he was never drafted into the league. Myers graduated following the 2012 season and then spent some time in the Arena Football League in 2014 before being signed by Jacksonville in March 2015.
