My alma mater Marist College has seen it's share of growth over the past decade. The forward momentum continues at the Poughkeepsie based campus as they've announced the addition of more on campus housing and the building of an applied sciences facility.

The Poughkeepsie Journal reports the additions will be built in 2 phases at a cost of approximately $140 million and will pull approximately 1,000 students from local off campus housing.

Phase one has begun, and a new dorm will be going in the old Bank of New York location along route 9 on the north end of campus. Estimates place the work done here will be done in August of '16. Phase two will involve the destruction of Gartland Commons which will be replaced with more high end housing for students. Expect that to be completed in August of '17.

The new science building with be built along Route 9 and will hold the all new physician assistant program which is aiming for a 2016 launch.
