Another national protest is getting ready to take place this weekend, and those in the Hudson Valley who want to take part will be able to go to Poughkeepsie to do so.

Hudson Valley participants in the 'March For Our Lives' movement, a protest advocating for stronger gun control in the wake of the shooting in Parkland, Florida, will be rallying at 11 AM on Saturday, March 24 at the Walkway Over The Hudson in Poughkeepsie. People will march from the Poughkeepsie side to the Highland side and back, where there will be music, speakers, and voter registration tables.

The event closely follows the national school walkout which took place on March 14. The Walkway has become a popular site for protests over the last few years, and it seems like they're expecting a big turnout. Gatherings like this are planned in at least two dozen states all over the country, and in at least ten countries outside the US.
