Manhunt Underway for Man Who Impersonated Police in Orange County

New York state police are looking for a man who allegedly impersonated a police officer. Police say the man was driving a dark sedan, and used front facing blue and red flashing lights to pull over a woman driving westbound on Route 17 in Blooming Grove Sunday night.

Police say the man detained the woman on the side of the road for over 20 minutes while asking for her license and registration. The man was wearing blue clothes and identified himself as a police officer.

Police did not find anyone with proper law enforcement credentials in that area of Route 17 at the time. Real officer’s locations show up on GPS screens at the dispatchers's officie
