Manhattanhenge is back, and New Yorkers will be snapping a lot of pics in the next few days. Manhattanhenge, a phrase coined by astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, and it happens only a few times each year, as the sun appears directly between the east-west line of skyscrapers.

WABC 7 Online says that a half-sunset is expected to occur tonight, May 29 at 8:12 p.m. ET and on Monday, July 13 at 8:21 p.m. ET. However, the full sunset on the grid will happen Saturday, May 30 at 8:12 p.m. ET, and again on July 12 at 8:20 p.m. ET.

The Hayden Planetarium advises that for the best viewing experience, photographers will want to position themselves as far east in Manhattan as possible and look west until you can still see New Jersey.

Clear cross streets include 14th, 23rd, 34th. 42nd, 57th, and several streets adjacent to them. The Empire State building and the Chrysler building render 34th street and 42nd streets especially striking vistas.
