A man with a nationwide arrest warrant was found and arrested in the Hudson Valley.

Washingtonville Police Officers responded to the Newcastle Development for a complaint of selling items in the area. Responding officers found two males who said that they were selling a cleaning solution door to door and admitted they never applied for a permit.

Police say during the investigation one of the men verbally stated his name was Michael Mooney and gave officers a date of birth and address. The man did not have identification on him.

Officers were suspicious of the name he provided and the suspect was transported to the police station where he was fingerprinted.

The man’s fingerprints gave officials his real identity, 33-year-old Christopher Snelling from Texas. Snelling had a nationwide arrest warrant from Texas for narcotics possession.

Snelling was arrested and charged with criminal impersonation, a misdemeanor and held as a fugitive from justice. He was remanded to Orange County without bail.
