The tough guy who wound up getting hit by Seinfeld's falling air conditioner has passed away.

You may not recognize Tom Towles by name, but the long-time character actor's face will surely ring a bell. Towles had appeared on episodes of some of the biggest shows of the '90s including Seinfeld, NYPD Blue, L.A. Law and Star Trek: Voyager.

More recently, Towles has been seen in several horror films including Rob Zombie's House of 1,000 Corpses. In fact, Zombie confirmed Towles passing in a Facebook post on Sunday night.

I just got word that our buddy Tom Towles has died. He was such a great guy and I am so grateful that we got to work together several times. He will be really missed.

Horror fans may remember Towles in his addictional acting roles including The Devil’s Rejects, Halloween, and Prophecy II.  He also played Otis in Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer.

Most of us probably remember Towles the most, however, from his role in the Seinfeld episode The Glasses. He played the "tough guy" who owned a dog that bit Elaine, convincing her that she had contracted rabies. Later in the same episode, Kramer slammed Jerry's door and caused his air conditioner to fall from the window and land on Towles' character and his dog.
