A man who was wanted for murder following a fatal shooting in North Carolina, as well as drug charges in Ulster County, was found hiding in Dutchess County.

On Tuesday, The Kingston Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit conducted a joint operation with the United States Marshal’s New York/ New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force in hopes of capturing 35-year-old Arthur W. Bulter Jr. of the Bronx.

Bulter was wanted for murder in North Carolina, drug charges in Kingston police and a parole violation by the New York State Division of Parole.

Detectives found Butler in the Town of Poughkeepsie and arrested him without incident, police say.

He was taken to the Kingston Police Department and charged with 1st-degree murder, criminal sale of a controlled substance and fugitive of justice. He’s currently being held in Ulster County Jail.
