Man Ticketed For Riding Bike One Handed, Said Man Only Has One Arm

Score one for the little guy! A Cologne, Germany man was pulled over, grilled and then fined by local police last March. Now his story is receiving international news and has even forced the Cologne Police to apologize. Bogdan Ionescu was riding his modified bike when German police stopped him, saying his bike had no right-hand brake and so was not roadworthy according to German safety laws. Here's the big thing...Ionsescu only has one arm. The modifications on his bicycle were all legal and help him ride, in spite of only having one arm. He had complained about his ordeal to the Kölner Stadtanzeiger newspaper. The paper printed his story and that's when it spread all over the world. The Police Chief has said he will personally apologize and has dropped the fine. You'd think authorities would have noticed he only had one arm to begin with?

"It's great news, I'm really happy," he told the Kölner Stadtanzeiger and said that the incident had been weighing on him over the past weeks. He felt frustrated and believed he had been discriminated against.

"It's good that this is how it ends, it's unbelievably good,"
