A 21-year-old was seriously injured while allegedly trying to buy weed in Dutchess County.

On Sunday around 9:20 p.m., City of Poughkeepsie 911 received a call from Vassar Hospital
reporting they were treating a 21 year old for a stab wound in his back with serious a internal injury.

As City Of Poughkeepsie investigated, they determined that man came to Poughkeepsie with the intent of purchasing marijuana.

Two men that the victim knew, lured him to the area of 534 Main Street with the intent of stealing his money, police say.

While carrying out their plan, one of the two allegedly stabbed the victim in the back. 20-year-old Liam Gannon of LaGrange and a 17-year-old from Beacon were both charged with first-degree robbery, a felony.

Both were remanded to Dutchess County Jail.

The unnamed victim underwent surgery for his injury. His condition was not released.
