Thirty days in jail for showing up to work too early? That's what one Sandy Springs, Georgia sanitation worker is facing. Sources say 48 year-old Kevin McGill violated a city ordinance by picking up the trash one morning around 5 a.m. The ordinance only allows trash pick up to between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

McGill had only been working with the contractor for three months. The prosecutor wasn't having any of it though. The prosecutor told WSB...

Fines don’t seem to work. The only thing that seems to stop the activity is actually going to jail.

The prosecutor said the ordinance exists to prevent residents from complaining about the noise waking them up too early. McGill’s lawyer has stated that she believes the sentence is too harsh. You think?
