A man was sentenced in a shooting at a Hudson Valley deli that left the victim paralyzed.

On October 22, 2014 Dimas Pedro, 32, of Yonkers entered a deli in Yonkers armed with a semi-automatic weapon. Officials say Pedro located the victim inside the deli and
began shooting at him from close range. Pedro continued shooting at the victim as the victim fell to the ground.

The victim was shot in the right thing and left collarbone. Injuries from the shooting has left the victim paralyzed from the waist down for life, according to the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office.

Authorities say Pedro and the victim knew each other and had a long standing dispute prior to the shooting.

Tuesday, in Westchester County Court Pedro was sentenced to 25 years in prison. He was also sentenced to 5 years of post-release supervision.
