It happened Monday night at the Otisville train station.

According to the Times Herald Record, a man who was standing on the train tracks close to the Otisville train station was struck and killed by a train around 7 p.m. Monday night.

The unidentified man was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

A spokesman from New Jersey Transit told the Record that there were 18 passengers including crew aboard the train at the time of the accident and that as of now, none of them reported any injuries.

The train involved in the accident left the Hoboken train station at 5:15 p.m and was due to arrive in Port Jervis at 7:23 p.m. Service between Middletown and Port Jervis was temporarily suspended due to the accident but was restored before this mornings commute times.

Metropolitan Transportation Authority Police have launched an investigation into what happened.
