An Ulster County man was arrested after he attempted to sell jewelry stolen from a consignment shop to antique store.

On Monday, at approximately 2:00 p.m. Saugerties Police responded to Saugerties Antique Center, located on Main Street in the Village of Saugerties, for a man that was attempting to sell gold rings that the employee recognized as being stolen.

Officers were able to establish through their investigation that the rings had indeed been stolen from the Kingston Consignment Shop, located on North Front Street in the City of
Kingston.

The man, identified as Jeremy K. Blaber, 31, of the Town of Esopus was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property fourth-degree. Blaber was uncooperative with officers and would not disclosed how he came into possession of the stolen jewelry.

Blaber was arraigned in the Village of Saugerties Court and released on his own recognizance.

He is scheduled to return to court at a later date.
