According to police a man driving without a license, who provided a fake name, was found to be intoxicated following a crash in Dutchess County that seriously injured one person.

On Sunday round 3:30 p.m., New York State Police from the Dover responded to a one-car auto collision on State Route 343 in the area of Sharon Station Road in the Town of Amenia.

Police say 24-year-old Jorge Mesinas-Lopez, of Salisbury, Connecticut was driving westbound on Route 343 when the car exited the roadway and struck a tree. An unnamed 24-year-old passenger, also from Salisbury, Connecticut, was transported to Mid-Hudson Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.

An investigation revealed that Mesinas-Lopez was allegedly intoxicated at the time of the collision and that his driving privileges were revoked due to a previous DWI conviction in the last 10 years.

While being questioned by police Mesinas-Lopez is accused of repeatedly provided a fictitious name which resulted in the generation of false documents.

Mesinas-Lopez was charged with 1st-degree vehicular assault, 1st-degree falsifying business records, 1st-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, and driving while intoxicated, all felonies. He also received a number vehicle and traffic offenses.

Mesinas-Lopez was arraigned in the Town of Amenia Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond.
