A Hudson Valley man was found to be in possession of around $4,000 worth of marijuana following an investigation into a two-car collision.

State Police from Cortlandt were sent to investigate a two-car crash in the area of Westbrook Drive and East Main Street. Dispatchers alerted the responding officer that a man, later identified as 25-year-old Antoine K. Boyd, of Peekskill, attempted to leave the scene of the crash but his vehicle was disabled.

Boyd was allegedly observed removing a bag from the truck of his car and placing it in a dumpster behind the Vitamin Shoppe on East Main Street.

A police investigation revealed that a Peekskill woman who was attempting to pull out of a parking area was hit by Boyd’s vehicle as he entered the parking area.

Troopers located the bag that Boyd placed in the dumpster and discovered that it allegedly contained over 10 ounces of marijuana. He was charged with 3rd-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a class E felony

Boyd was arraigned in Cortlandt Court and remanded to Westchester County Jail. He is due to return in court on March 7th.
