Pumpkin isn't the only fall flavor. In fact, here around the Hudson Valley, I believe apple was the first big fall flavor. Pumpkin spice came later. And if apple is your favorite fall flavor, then you might just want to head to Esopus in Ulster County this Saturday.

This Saturday, Sept. 22, it's the 2018 Esopus Apple Festival from 8 am - 3 pm at the Town of Esopus United Methodist Church 151 Main Street in Port Ewen. The church will hold its 48th annual Apple Festival. There will be apple pancakes, homemade apple pies, apple cider, baked goods, fried dough, sausage-and-peppers, hamburgers, hot dogs, along with an array of beautiful handmade crafts. And the best part? Admission is free. Plus, Esopus will be holding a town wide yard sale. This sounds like a perfect autumn Saturday afternoon that the whole family can enjoy.

For more information about the Esopus Apple Festival and town wide yard sale, visit their facebook page or call (845) 338-0356.
