A classic case of a bad day getting worse.

According to the Times Herald Record, a Jeffersonville woman is facing multiple charges after police say she tried to light her jail cell on fire and then fought with a Sullivan County Sheriff’s Deputy.

It all started when Deputies responded to a domestic dispute and realized that one of the people involved, Kristina Morgan was wanted for allegedly stealing from the Dollar General in Jeffersonville.

The sheriff’s office told the Record that after deputies arrested Morgan they began to process her and that's when she became unruly and was placed in a holding cell.

It was then, the sheriff’s office says, that Morgan pulled a cigarette lighter out of a body cavity and tried to light the wooden bench in the cell on fire. Smelling something burning, a deputy at the front desk ran back to find Morgan in the act of trying to ignite the bench and the two wrestled when the deputy tried to take the lighter from Morgan.

Morgan was charged with felony assault, arson and petty larceny. She was arraigned and sent to Sullivan County Jail.
