Two utility workers from Ulster County have been arrested and charged with grand larceny. 

Both Tony Wallace, 44 of Wallkill and David Newman, 45 of Wallkill have been arrested and charged with lrand Larceny in the third-degree, criminal mischief in the second-degree and multiple counts of criminal Tampering in the Second-degree.

According to a press release the New York State Police, the two men were workers as subcontractors for Time Warner Cable when they stole backup batteries from multiple sites across Ulster County. The batteries were allegedly stolen from utility poles, where wiring was damaged during the process.

Both men were arraigned in the Town of Plattekill Court and sent to Ulster County Jail. Tony Wallace is being held on $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 bond, and David Newman is being held on $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.
