A local Hudson Valley Animal Sanctuary is looking for cool veggies for some cool critters. Pets Alive located at 363 Derby Road in Middletown are looking for veggies that they can make into to a giant Popsicle for their resident pigs. Apparently Sully, Kalamazoo and Penelope love veggies and with the heat we have been experiencing this summer the veggies frozen in water to make a giant Popsicle has been a big hit in the pig pen.

Donations are always welcome at Pets Alive but the veggie variety will be a welcome sight for these adorable pigs. Fresh veggies can be dropped of Monday through Sunday (7 days a week) from 10am to 4pm. If you have Romaine Lettuce, Carrots, Cucumbers and Green Beans leftover in your garden or you just feel like buying some extra to donate this is the perfect place to bring them to be sure they will go to good use.

Pets Alive is located in Middletown and their mission is to improve the lives of companion animals which includes pigs. Their goal is to do this by any means possible which includes rescue, adoption, advocacy, collaboration, intervention and education. Pets Alive is a no-kill animal rescue who have been serving the Hudson Valley since 1988.

As a matter of fact they will be celebrating their 30 years with an event this November called Harvest of Hope. The evening of food, dancing and entertainment will be held at the Eagles Nest. Find out how to get tickets and make a donation for the auction by clicking here.
