Pizza franchise owners in the Hudson Valley have agreed to pay $735,000 in a settlement with the New York Attorney General's office.

According to reports from The Poughkeepsie Journal and Times Herald Record, the owners of some Domino's Pizza franchises in our area will pay stiff fines after admitting to minimum wage violations, overtime discrepancies and other labor law violations.

Five stores in Orange and Dutchess counties were included in the settlement. Ammar Jali, a former franchise owner, will pay $60,000. He operated pizzerias on Taft Avenue in Poughkeepsie, Route 9 in Wappingers, Carpenter Avenue in the Town of Wallkill, Route 17M in Monroe, and Windsor Highway in New Windsor.

Robert Cookston who operates a company that oversees 18 Domino's stores including two of the Orange County locations, will pay $675,000 to the Attorney General.
