A Hudson Valley man sent his son a get-well card containing a scratch-off ticket that wound up winning $7 million.

Joseph Amorese certainly feels better now! The Easton, Pennsylvania man was recovering from hernia surgery last month when his father in Rockland County decided to send him a get-well card.

CBS New York reports that Amorese was completely shocked by the winning ticket. He tells CBS:

I took my glasses off, I’m looking at it, I was pretty shocked to say the least... I had surgery so I didn’t jump up and down, but in my mind I was jumping up and down.

After deciding on the one lump sum, The New York Lottery presented Amorese with a check valued at just around $4.5 million at Just A Dollar on 20 North Main St. in New City, the same location where his father purchased the ticket.
