On Wednesday morning Kingston based entertainer, Richard Shultis, was hauled off in handcuffs.

While some may not be surprised to hear that Shultis was arrested, you'll be happy to know that his lockup is actually all for charity. The stand-up comedian and frequent guest of the Boris & Robyn Show is participating in the 2015 MDA Lockup, an annual fundraiser where local personalities agree to spend their day in "jail" until they raise enough donations to reach "bail."

This year, the Hudson Valley Lock-Up is happening at Bonefish Grill on Route 9 in Poughkeepsie. If you want to help get Rich out of jail, you can make an online donation to MDA on their website.

Shultis is hoping to raise $2,400 by the end of the day. As of this morning he was only at $734. Donate if you can to make sure that Rich doesn't have to stay at Bonefish. Although, a life of Bang Bang Shrimp doesn't actually seem all that bad.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will provide critical funds to fight muscle diseases that MDA says will help unlock hope for a world free of muscle disease.
