Lighting up anywhere on this college campus, including inside your own car, will be strictly forbidden starting July 1. Most students will have no choice but to quit.

Vassar College officially goes smoke-free next month, meaning that anyone found with a lit cigarette on college owned property will face disciplinary action. Most colleges prohibit smoking inside dorms and in common areas, but this new policy goes much further, banning cigarette use anywhere on campus, even outdoors.

And yes, this ban also includes E-cigarettes. According to Vassar's Smoke-Free website,

'Smoking' means consumption, inhaling, exhaling, or burning any type of matter or substance that contains tobacco or plant product intended for inhalation including but not limited to cigarettes, electronic nicotine delivery systems, cigars, pipes, chewing tobacco, hookahs and marijuana whether natural or synthetic, in any manner or any form.

The policy also states that smoking is prohibited in personal vehicles on campus, meaning that students won't even be able to go to their own cars to light up.

For now, the college says that students or visitors violating the smoke-free policy will be politely reminded of the new regulations. However, they reserve the right to enforce disciplinary action if necessary.

What do you think about this strict no-smoking policy? Do you think it will stop students from smoking or is will it be just too difficult to enforce?
