A Hudson Valley brewer spent the morning being interviewed by CNBC after winning a national contest.

After winning a competition for America's Best Loved Beer Label, Paul Halayko from Newburgh Brewing Company appeared on CNBC's Squawk Box to accept his award and tell the story of his journey from investment banker to brewer.

Halayko, was a former vice president at JP Morgan. He left the world of finance to partner with his high school friend Christopher Basso. Together, they opened up their brewery near the Newburgh Waterfront in 2012.

Newburgh Brewing Company recently began canning their beer, and hired a company called Modern Good in Philadelphia to design the label. The colorful can features "Betsy the Cow" which serves as a company mascot. It also depicts various landmarks from the Newburgh area. To celebrate the launch of their new cans, the staff of Newburgh Brewing recently "Rocked their PDH" in this viral video that is currently being used as a part of WPDH's TV campaign:
