Merriam-Webster added 150 new words to their official dictionary today, including hashtag, selfie and tweep.

Made popular by Twitter, a hashtag is used to categorize a specific tweet.  A tweep is someone who uses Twitter, tweeple would be its plural form, of course.  The question remains whether or not selfie's entry into the dictionary will be the final nail in this annoying activity's coffin or just further solidify it as a part of modern culture that's here to stay.

Other words added to the dictionary include turducken (A duck cooked inside a chicken that's cooked inside a turkey), fracking, freegan and Yooper, a nickname for people from Northern Michigan.
