If you're like me, and you love maple syrup, plan to be in Middletown on Feb. 2 to learn how to make your own maple syrup. Sounds delicious, doesn't it?

The Cornell Cooperative Extension Orange County on Seward Avenue in Middletown is hosting a class on maple syrup Saturday, Feb. 2 from 9:30 am - 11:30 am. Learn how to make real maple syrup as they touch briefly on the history of syrup production, discuss tree identification, learn about tree tapping and the collection and processing of sap into syrup. Imagine serving your family and friends pancakes with maple syrup that you made yourself!

It's only $10 per person, and Gardening in Orange County subscribers receive
a 20% discount. Space is limited, so please register early to avoid disappointment. Registration deadline is January 31. Contact Jill at 845-344-1234 or jd863@cornell.edu for more information. There are no refunds, so if you can't attend please send someone in your place. The snow date is February 9th.
