How well do you know our local trees? Maybe it's time for you to learn all about Hudson Valley trees. You can do just that this Saturday, March 3, at the Winter Tree Identification Workshop and Walk at the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies on Sharon Turnpike (Route 44) in Millbrook.

You will learn to how to recognize native and invasive trees and shrubs by their shape, bark patterns, twigs, fruits, and seeds. You will also gain experience using identification keys. There will be an indoor workshop followed by a walk. Make sure you wear boots and appropriate clothing and bring a hand lens or magnifying glass if you have one. It's a fun, educational, and healthy way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

The program will begin at the main campus lobby, 2801 Sharon Turnpike in Millbrook at 1 pm.  Register online at caryinstitute.org/events, or visit their facebook page. For more information, call (845) 677-7600 extension 121.
