After so many years of doing my midday show live from the Dutchess County fair, it feels almost like getting together with good friends at summer camp.  I love to come in the livestock gate so I can say hi to Steve, one of my favorite local fair guys.  Hopefully, I'll visit all the vendors and booths, local or not.  But on my first day, I wanted to make sure I saw the locals.  We visited with our friends from Handsome Devil when they brought their famous "Hot Mess" to Tig.  I hung out with Toni from Elia's, and got to have some award winning brisket. I saw Rich from Nick and Benny's where you can get tomato salad made with local tomatoes.

I went to the Hudson Valley tent and saw Cathie from Hudson Valley Skin Care, and Mike from the Hudson Valley Wine and Food Fest.  And of course, had a visit with Mike Gordon from Zimmer Brothers, always set up across from us at the fair.  Day one...a great success.  I can't wait to go back...see you there!
