Get ready to set some records in the Hudson Valley as unseasonably warm weather hits the region.

Tuesday's high temperature was expected to hit 84 degrees in Poughkeepsie. That would best the record high temperature of 82 set back in 1963. It's just the latest episode in a crazy weather pattern that has hit the Hudson Valley over the past summer.

This has been one of the warmest summers in history, if you take into account the amount of days the thermometer went over 90 degrees. And just when the leaves have started to turn and most residents have shut off their air conditioners for the year summer has decided to make a brief comeback.

The average temperature for this time of year is in the low 60s, but we'll see temperatures in the 80s through Wednesday. After that a cold front will push the mercury back to average levels and bring some much needed rain along with it. The week should end with temperatures falling all the way down to the upper 50s.
