The college semester has gotten off to a terrible start at one New York University. According to a press release, an Ithaca student was stabbed and killed at nearby Cornell University early Sunday morning.

The incident, which has been described as a 'large fight' resulted in two serious injuries. Both having been Ithaca students, one was treated and released at a local hospital while the other passed away. The identities have not been released pending family notification.

The incident, which took place near the intersection of College Avenue and Campus Road, was isolated and campus police believe there is no ongoing threat to campus. Students had gathered at a nearby student union before the fight broke out after the event.
