This past weekend, a new law went into effect in New York which bans anyone under the age of 18 from playing Bingo. Yes, seriously.

Kids will still be allowed in Bingo halls, but they won't be allowed to actually play the game. Before, there was no age limit, and kids could play as long as they had an adult with them.

The reason for the change is that Bingo is officially classified as a form of legal gambling, and there's been a statewide effort to raise the minimum age of gambling and lottery games. As far as gambling games go, Bingo seems pretty tame, and it had never even crossed my mind that kids shouldn't play it.

One more change to the law - the maximum Bingo prize has been raised from $1,000 to $5000. And it looks like your chance to win all that money has just increased, now that all those pesky kids are out of the way. Good luck!
