The Hudson Valley is full of history. Everywhere you look there's an historical site or a story behind a landmark.

That's one of the perks about living in the Hudson Valley. But of course with history there come the darker stories from the past. If you go to Google and look up 'haunted places in the Hudson Valley' you're going to get a ton of answers.

Now, I'm no paranormal expert, but an abandoned castle in the middle of the Hudson River sounds like it's probably haunted.

ILoveNY.Com released a list of the "14 of the Spookiest Places in New York" and of course the Hudson Valley made the list.

Coming in at number 3 on their list is Bannerman Castle in Beacon, New York. They say:

On an island just off the shores of the Hudson River are the mysterious, ornate, still-standing remains of Bannerman Castle. It was once an ammunition storage facility modeled on a Scottish castle. Now the Bannerman Castle Trust hosts musical and theatrical performances, history tours, storytelling, and even meals.

Bannerman Castle will be hosting a handful of classic horror movie nights leading up to Halloween.

Will you be visiting Bannerman Castle this spooky season.
