It's only the middle of August, but Halloween stores are already opening and Halloween candy is popping up on shelves everywhere. Is it just too soon to start thinking about Halloween?

Down the road in Wappingers Falls, signs for the Spirit Halloween Store were already up with flags advertising the costume shop flying high on Route 9 in front of the old Fun Central building. Workers out front said that they expect to open up this Monday morning so shoppers can get a head start on Halloween.

Party City on Route 9 was also in transition, with aisles being cleared for Halloween costumes and novelties. Signs promised that it won't be too long before shoppers can start stocking up on cobwebs, spiders and other decorations.
