With very little fanfare, a 35-year-old Hudson Valley watering hole has served its last drink.

Even if you've never set foot inside Mulligan's Irish House you've probably driven past and noticed the painted green stripe on the roadway. The iconic Irish bar has been serving drinks on New Hackensack Road in Poughkeepsie for over three and a half decades.

Recently, the bar was used as the setting for the new WPDH television commercial. Listeners were invited to come by and pose as extras for the video shoot and enjoy some drinks on the house.

The Poughkeepsie Journal has confirmed that the bar is now closed and the orange and green neon sign has been taken down. The property has been listed for sale.

Mulligan's Facebook page was filled with messages from former patrons that had fond memories of the bar. Michael Doyle wrote "Tis' a sad day indeed. A great place with great people!"

Ken Muntz posted "Over sixteen years ago, I swung in for a Guinness. I was welcomed in by a friendly face and instantly felt welcomed... I can literally say, if it weren't for Mulligan's, I wouldn't be who I am today."

Mia Blauvelt might have summed it up best with her post that simply states "Good times."
