Hyde Park Man Killed in North East Crash

The Dutchess County Sheriff's Office is investigating a two-car fatal crash that occurred Saturday afternoon in the Town of North East.

A preliminary investigation has shown that a 1990 pick-up truck operated by Brian S. Sherow, 53, of Hyde Park, was traveling southbound on Route 22 near Irondale Rd when it crossed over the center pavement markings and struck a northbound 2016 Chevrolet pickup operated by Eftichia Amouris, 49, of Hillsdale, NY.

Sherow was transported to Sharon Hospital in Connecticut where he was pronounced dead.

Amouris initially was sent to Sharon Hospital, but then later transferred to Vassar Brothers Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

At this time no charges have been filed. The investigation is continuing by members of the Sheriff's Office Crash Investigation Unit, and more details will be released when they become available.
