A Hyde Park man is in jail and being held without bail after being charged Monday with sexually assaulting a child.

According to the Daily Freeman, Douglas Ogden was arrested Saturday and charged with three felonies including, one count of predatory sexual assault of a child and two counts of sex abuse involving a child under the age of 13. He was also charged with two misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Police told the Freeman that they were contacted and told about the possible sexual assault of children on Sunday, Nov. 27. Once contacted, the Hyde Park police and members of the Child Advocacy Center interviewed five children, who ranged in age from 7 years to 15 years.

After the investigation was complete, Ogden was arrested. He was arraigned and sent to Dutchess County Jail without bail.

Ogden is due back in court on Thursday.
