The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department are reporting the arrest of Joseph Lephew, 56, of Hyde Park on felony charges stemming from a traffic stop on Cannon Street in the City of Poughkeepsie on Friday night a little after 3AM. After subsequent investigation, it was revealed that Lephew was intoxicated, according to the Dutchess County Sherriff's press release.

Lephew was driving even after having his driving privileges revoked as a result of a 2007 DWI conviction, according to the Dutchess County Sheriff's office. He was taken into custody and charged with DWI & aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, both of which were felonies. This is Lephew’s ninth DWI arrest dating back to 1987 with at least four prior DWI convictions, three of those being felony DWI convictions, the press release said.

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office press release also states that Lephew was arraigned in the City of Poughkeepsie Court where he was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail. He is scheduled to appear back in city court on June 17, 2015 at 11:00 am.
