Seven Hudson Valley restaurants have been selected by "Wine Spectator magazine as having award-winning wine lists. The featured restaurants include:

  • The Red Onion, Saugerties
  • Il Barilotto, Fishkill
  • Mohonk Mountain House, New Paltz
  • Ship Lantern Inn, Milton
  • The Local Restaurant, Rhinebeck
  • Cosimo’s On Union, Newburgh
  • Crew, Poughkeepsie

The above are just the local winners. A full list of award winners is featured in Wine Spectator’s August 31 issue, which hits newsstands July 21. All of the restaurants can also be found in WineSpectator.com’s restaurant search.

What does this mean? (Other than you will probably need to make a reservation to get into all these restaurants now.) According to a press release from Wine Spectator, these restaurants have diverse wine lists that offer guests not only a vast selection of wine options, but also "wines that are well-presented and thematically match the restaurant’s cuisine in price and style."

The awards are broken down into multiple categories, including ones for having more than 350 wines available to offer customers, having older vintages to offer, and having unique and limited wines available.
