Bones discovered near the Hudson River last month have now been identified as human remains, according to Hudson Valley News Network.

Police received a call on June 19 from a boater reporting what they believed were human remains. Police searched the eastern side of the Hudson river near the area of south Prospect Street where they found the skeletal remains. The Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed Tuesday that the remains are of a man.

No cause of death was released but officials say it doesn't appear to be of a traumatic nature. City of Poughkeepsie officials are working to identify the remains.
