There are now at least eight sites in our area that are being considered for the location of a new Legoland theme park and resort.

At least eight potential sites have already been visited by Legoland representatives

After a multi-million dollar Legoland project was rejected by Rockland County residents last month, other local communities have stepped up, saying that they would welcome the tourism and tax dollars a theme park and resort would bring to the Hudson Valley.

In October, Orange County Executive, Steven Neuhaus confirmed that a number of communities were "rolling out the red carpet” to try and attract a new Legoland project. Well now it looks like Legoland is starting to show some real interest.

The Times Herald Record reports that at least eight potential sites have already been visited by Legoland representatives and they have requested to make a trip to tour even more possible locations that may be suitable for the theme park.

Neuhaus would not say which locations are under consideration, but he did indicate that they were between Stewart Airport and the Woodbury Commons area. The County Executive believes that because of the interest Legoland has shown so far, Orange County is very much in the running for getting the theme park. Stay tuned!
