A Hudson Valley teenager is accused of calling in a bomb threat to a local school.

On Friday around 1 p.m., the Liberty Police Department was notified that the Liberty Middle School received a bomb threat over the phone.

All Liberty schools were place on lockdown, with authorities safeguarding the school campus and surrounding streets.

Liberty police began an investigation with the help of New York State Police, Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI. Within two hours the source of the threat was identified and apprehended, police say.

A 13-year-old Liberty Middle School student is accused of calling in the bomb threat. The unnamed student has been charged as a juvenile with making a terroristic threat, a felony.
