St. Joseph Catholic School teaches children of all faiths from Pre-K until the eighth grade,

According to the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services Sex Offenders database, Vanleuven is considered a sexually violent offender. The now 50-year-old was arrested in 2001 by Louisiana State Police.

He was convicted in March 2002 of deviate sexual intercourse and sexual contact with three young girls, ages four, five, and nine. The sex offenders database says he knew the victims.
