The Hudson Valley Horrors are ready to roll.

The Hudson Valley's own Roller Derby league kicks off their season this Sunday, April 15 at Roller Magic in Hyde Park. The Dracu-ladies will be taking on the Apoca-lips in a "battle for home turf superiority."

Roller derby has been increasing in popularity here in the Hudson Valley, and has even inspired a junior league of athletes aged 8 to 15. The "Frightmares" will be competing during halftime, showing off just what these younger roller derby athletes can do.

The match will also feature hard cider and beer service, for those over 21.

If you'd like to check out roller derby for yourself, doors open at 5:30 on Sunday and tickets will be available at the door. You can also get them in advance for $10 at the Hudson Valley Horrors website.

A fundraiser for Grace Smith House will also be happening at the bout. Fans are encouraged to bring new or gently used bras and other supplies to donate.
