Hudson Valley Roads Are Traffic Nightmare This Morning

Some of the worst road conditions we've seen are what commuters will be dealing with early Monday morning. School delays are already piling in and this is just the beginning.

The Weather Channel says temperatures will not rise above freezing until at least 11am as Winter Storm Hekter hits our morning drive with a vengance. Snow turning to ice and freezing rain are causing slick driving conditions.

On my way up Route 9 in Dutchess County this morning I experienced some of the worst road conditions in my 20 years of morning radio. There seems to be very little salt on the roads. Snow, covered with a layer of freezing rain has turned many roads into an ice rink.
