The Hudson Valley is rallying around a rescued pit bull who needs surgery to walk again.

George was just 7 months old when he was adopted and since then his road to recovery has been met with some major challenges. The pit bull puppy was stricken with a herniated disc which prohibited him from walking and left him in terrible pain. After some therapy, the dog was able to walk again, but recently his spine has been affected again.

An MRI and surgery to correct George's condition is estimated to cost $10,000. That's more money than George's owners can afford, so they've turned to the generosity of their friends and neighbors to help out.

A Go Fund Me page has been set up for George, hoping to raise the $8,500 needed to pay for the rest of the dog's anticipated medical bills. So far $760 has been raised in just three days.
