The Hudson Valley Rail Trail network has been nominated as a candidate for the Rail Trail Hall of Fame. Rails-to-Conservancy has selected the local network as one of five nationwide for its 30th Hall of Fame selection.

Three rail trails combine to form 18 miles of accessible trails; Hudson Valley Rail Trail, Walkway Over The Hudson and the William R. Steinhaus Dutchess Rail Trail. They reach from Hopewell Junction all the way to Lloyd, with plans to extend further into Ulster County.

Previous inductions into the Rail-Trail Hall of fame were chosen by members of Rails-to-Conservancy, but being their 30th anniversary, they've decided to let the public chose this time. Voting is underway as of today and will run through June 15th at midnight. You can also support the local trails by using the hashtag #RailTrailHOF on social media.
