A man who was a private violin teacher in the Hudson Valley was arrested for receiving and possessing child pornography.

According to court documents from 2012 to 2015 Nicolas Szucs, of Somers possessed, transported, and received images and videos of child pornography. A search of an external hard drive and a laptop belonging to Szucas allegedly revealed hundreds of images of child porn.

Szucs also tried to destroy his laptop before law enforcement could seize it, officials say.

On Friday, Szucs, voluntarily surrounded to authorities.

Manhattan U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara stated: “The allegations in this case are particularly disturbing and sad. A private violin teacher, who works with children, stands accused of allegedly victimizing children.”

Szucas was charged with one count each of transporting, receiving, and possessing child pornography.

“This music teacher allegedly violated his position of trust and robbed the victims of their innocence,” HSI Special Agent-in-Charge Angel M. Melendez said in a statement. “HSI agents will continue to police the cyber space to investigate and bring to justice those individuals who exploit the most vulnerable segment of our society- our children.”

Szucs faces up to 30 years in prison if convicted of all charges.
