The thieves were caught in Dutchess County.

According to the East Fishkill Police Departments Facebook page, back on November 29th they received a call from a person that wanted to report that someone just stole some packages from the front of a house on Cherry Lane in East Fishkill and got away in a box truck.

Once officers were dispatched to the address, the caller said that two males, in hooded sweatshirts, driving a long white box truck, had just stolen packages from a neighbors house.

Quick police work has lead to a quick arrest. As luck would have it one police officer was in the area during the call and he located the suspects and the box truck a short distance from the area where the theft had been reported.

After the investigation was complete, police arrested two males, Albert Ulloa-Pichado, 24, from Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania and Steven A. Baez-Tapia, 19, from New York City.

Both men were charged with Petit Larceny and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the fifth degree and sent to the Dutchess County Jail pending a future court date.

East Fishkill police have asked that any residents who may have had packages stolen from their front porch or around their residence to call the East Fishkill Police Department at (845)221-2111.
